The Bogeneck ruin, also known as Aistaig Castle, a former spur castle, is located on a high plateau spur above the Neckar valley in Baden-Württemberg.
History+
The origins of Bogeneck Castle date back to the 11th century. It was built by the Lords of Aistaig and was first mentioned in a document in 1098. Designed as a defensive castle, it served to protect and control the region.

The Bogeneck ruin is located in Aistaig, a district of Oberndorf am Neckar, in the Rottweil district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It stands at an elevation of approximately 576 meters above sea level, on a spur above the drop to the Neckar valley.
On site+
Visitors can explore the remains of the castle complex. In particular, parts of the shield wall, crafted from ashlar masonry, are still preserved. The ruin is accessible.
