Bring Castle (Ruin) (Edertal)

In the Edertal, the remains of the Bring Ruin are located on a small island in today's Edersee. The exact date of construction is unknown, but it is believed to have existed before 1196, when a "Knight of Bringhausen" was first mentioned in documents. The name is said to derive from a builder named Brunink, which later evolved into "Burg Bring." In the 15th century, the Counts of Waldeck used the complex as a castle seat. When the castle was abandoned or destroyed and fell into disrepair is not recorded. By the 19th century, it was already a ruin with only a few remaining wall fragments.
