The Burgberg Ruin, also known as the “Tower,” is a former moated castle in Königsfeld-Burgberg. Of the complex, a keep remains today, surrounded by residential buildings.

History+

The moated castle was first documented in 1116. It was built by the Lords of Burgberg and expanded in the 13th century. It served as a prison for the neighboring castles of Bärenberg and Waldau. The castle passed into the possession of the House of Württemberg before being completely destroyed during the Thirty Years' War.
