Château Geronde (Ruin) (Sierre)

The ruin consisted of three parts - a first ring wall that surrounded the site, then above it the enclosure of the castle with two successive terraces. Through a first gate one reaches the main entrance of the village, across the courtyard, where the outbuildings were presumably located. Through a second gate one reaches the upper enclosure. Here are the bishop's castle, the rectangular residential building with a tower, probably from the 14th century, and in the southwest an older square tower. The main entrance is in the east. This is the best preserved part of the walls; it opened between two massive square masonry structures from the end of the 13th or beginning of the 14th century. There are no longer any remains of the houses of the village, which were located between the castle and the hill of Saint-Felix.
