Dahme Castle (Ruin)

Schloss Dahme+
Schloss Dahme was transformed into a Baroque palace with a representative central risalit between 1711 and 1714 under the Dukes of Saxe-Weissenfels Friedrich (*1673 +1715) and Johann Adolf II. (*1685 +1746), incorporating the existing structure of a medieval moated castle belonging to the Lords of Dahme. The Silesian master builder Elias Scholtz and the Saxon master builder Johann Christoph Schütze were involved in the construction. After aborted renovation measures, the castle complex fell into ruin after 1957. From 1994 to 2008, it was secured with the involvement of the German Foundation for Monument Protection and has since served cultural purposes.
