The Ginsburg ruin is in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district of North Rhine-Westphalia, situated at an elevation of approximately 583 meters above sea level. It serves today as a venue for cultural events.

History+

The Nassau castle complex was erected in the early 13th century on the foundations of an older structure. Until 1360, the Ginsburg changed hands multiple times through inheritances, pledges, and divisions. It gained historical significance in 1568 when William I of Orange-Nassau planned his campaign here to liberate the Netherlands from Spanish rule.
