Gromberg Castle (Ruin)
The Gromberg castle ruin is a castle ruin in a forest 1000 meters northeast of the town of Lauchheim in the Ostalbkreis district in Baden-Württemberg.
Gromberg Castle is first mentioned in 1253 as "Gruwenberg" and was the ancestral seat of the Lords of Gromberg. Before 1378, it passed to Pfahlheim and later to the Teutonic Order Commandery of Kapfenburg.
Of the castle, moats, wall remains, and a tower base of the keep with a footprint of 6.5 × 9.5 meters and a wall thickness of 1.3 meters are still preserved.
