Haibach Castle (Ruin)

The origins of Haibach Castle date back to the 12th century, when the Haybecken family, ministerials of the Counts of Bogen, had their seat here. The first documented mentions appear around 1100. Members of the family, such as Albert von Haybach, who participated in a crusade, and Dietrich Ritter zu Haybach, who served as a judge and administrator, played roles. In 1348, Dietrich's sons Albrecht, Dietrich, and Hanns acquired the Hofmark of Wiesenfelden. The knightly lineage of the Haybecken died out in 1494.
