The Haimburg ruin, also known as Homburg, Homberg, or Hainburg, is on a mountain spur that slopes steeply down to the Eyach Valley. This hilltop castle ruin, located west of Grosselfingen, is now freely accessible.

History+

The origins of Haimburg date back to the period between 1275 and 1325, when Count Friedrich VI of Zollern initiated its construction. It was first mentioned in a document in 1344, shortly before the castle was destroyed. In 1420, the complex was rebuilt by Konrad von Bubenhofen and remained in use until 1465. Its final destruction likely occurred in 1642.
