Hohenalfingen Castle (Ruin)
The Hohenalfingen ruin, remains of a castle, is on a spur of the Swabian Alb above the village of Oberalfingen. It is now freely accessible.
History+
Around 1200, Hohenalfingen Castle was built by the Lords of Ahelfingen as their ancestral seat. The complex suffered damage, particularly during the Peasants' War and the Thirty Years' War, which led to its decay. During excavations around 1950, the foundations of a round tower were uncovered in the area of the present-day courtyard.

The Hohenalfingen ruin is located in Oberalfingen, part of the Ostalb district in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It stands at an elevation of approximately 535 meters above sea level.

Visitors can today explore the remains of the Hohenalfingen ruin. Parts of the keep, the curtain wall, and the former moat have been preserved.
