The Hohenhundersingen ruin, once a rock castle, stands on a rock above the Lauter Valley near Münsingen-Hundersingen.

History+

The origins of Hohenhundersingen Castle date back to around 1100, when it was built by the Hundersingen family. Its first documented mention occurred in 1237. From 1352 onwards, owners included Württemberg and the Lords of Bichishausen. The complex was destroyed in 1530.

Location+

The ruin is situated on a rocky spur on a steep slope above the Lauter Valley, near the Hundersingen district of the municipality of Münsingen in the Reutlingen district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Its elevation is approximately 689 meters above sea level.
