Hohenhundersingen Castle (Ruin)
Hohenhundersingen Castle is the ruin of a rock castle on a high rock above the Lauter Valley near the Hundersingen district of the municipality of Münsingen in the Reutlingen district of Baden-Württemberg.
The castle ruin is located on a steep slope on a rock spur. It is accessible via signposted hiking trails from Hundersingen in the Lauter Valley (Große Lauter) and is freely accessible.
The rock castle was built around 1100 by the Hundersingen family, first mentioned in 1237, and destroyed in 1530. Other owners since 1352 included Württemberg and the Lords of Bichishausen.
Of the former castle complex, the keep with bossage masonry and remnants of an outer bailey with surrounding walls can still be seen. Towards the mountain, the complex is secured by a neck ditch.
