Hohenringingen Castle (Ruin)
The Hohenringingen ruin is a castle ruin on the high Nähberg near Ringingen, a district of Burladingen in the Zollernalbkreis in Baden-Württemberg.
The keep of the hilltop castle was presumably built in the 11th century and first mentioned in a document in 1180 under knights Dietrich and Otte von Ringingen. In 1390, Heinrich "resided here", who in 1373 brought the nickname Affenschmalz from Italy, where he had served as a Condottieri in the papal army. In popular parlance, the Hohenjungingen ruin is also named after this, but it was the property of the Jungingen family. In the 15th century, the castle fell into disrepair after destruction and was referred to as a "Burgstall" in 1508. During a local land consolidation in 1972, the restoration of the ruin began. Also in Ringingen, the remains of Ringelstein Castle are preserved. The tower is now located in a nature reserve.

Of the former square castle complex, which featured a keep, other buildings, an outer bailey, a neck ditch, a curtain wall, and ramparts, the fully restored and accessible keep and parts of the curtain wall remain.
