The Kransberg ruin, a former hilltop castle, sits atop the eponymous Kranzberg near Laufen in the Schwäbisch Hall district.

History+

The construction of Kransberg Castle was undertaken by the Counts of Öttingen in the first half of the 13th century. Its initial documentary mention dates back to 1212. An event was the destruction of the complex in the mid-15th century during the War of the Cities.

The Kransberg ruin is situated on the Kranzberg near Laufen in the Schwäbisch Hall district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, at an elevation of approximately 438 m above sea level.
