The Kronenburg Ruin is a collection of castle remains near Dossenheim in the Rhein-Neckar district of Baden-Württemberg. Situated on an Odenwald spur, it offers insight into medieval architecture.

History+

The origins of Kronenburg are still not fully understood, as there are no documented mentions. However, archaeological findings suggest its construction in the 11th or early 12th century. The current name Kronenburg has only been in use since the 19th century; traditionally, the complex was known as "Altes Schlössel". Speculations that it might be a predecessor to the nearby Schauenburg have not yet been confirmed.
