Luginsfeld Castle (Ruin)
The Luginsfeld castle ruin is a castle ruin 120 meters above the Danube valley, at the southwest tip of the Leutenberg 1500 meters east of the city church of Tuttlingen in the district of Tuttlingen in Baden-Württemberg.
In the 20th century, remains of the walls of the tower castle, built between the 11th and 13th centuries and surrounded by a double moat, were uncovered.
The castle area measures approximately 20 by 14 meters. The square tower measures 7 by 7 meters with a wall thickness of 1.2 meters and still shows a height of 1.8 meters.
The tower falls under the so-called "Luginsland towers" and primarily served to monitor the surroundings. Presumably, the tower had a wooden superstructure and a height of 30 meters, as was common at the time.
