Milandre Castle (Ruin) (Boncourt)
In Boncourt in the Swiss canton of Jura, the Milandre ruin, a former castle complex, stands at an elevation of approximately 422 meters above sea level.
History+
The construction of Milandre Castle took place in the second half of the 13th century under the aegis of the Count of Montbéliard. In 1283, the complex changed hands to the Prince-Bishop of Basel, Henry d'Isny. Another change of ownership occurred in 1386, when the castle returned to the Counts of Montbéliard. Finally, in 1461, it once again came into the possession of the Prince-Bishop of Basel. In 1981, the municipality of Boncourt acquired the ruin, which was then extensively restored in 1988.

Visitors can explore the Milandre ruin today. The restored tower is freely accessible and serves as a viewpoint.
