New-Bubenberg Castle (Ruin) (Köniz)
West of Bern in Switzerland, the Neu-Bubenberg ruin is a medieval castle complex from the 13th century. The almost two-meter-thick wall remains have been preserved to this day.
History+
Neu-Bubenberg Castle was built in the 13th century and served as the second ancestral seat for the Bernese patrician family of Bubenberg, after Alt-Bubenberg Castle was no longer in use. As early as 1338, the complex was abandoned and fell into disrepair. An attempted restoration in 1938 was unsuccessful.

The Neu-Bubenberg ruin is located in the municipality of Köniz in the canton of Bern, within the Bern-Mittelland district in Switzerland. It stands at an elevation of approx. 745 meters above sea level.
