New-Bubenberg Castle (Ruin) (Köniz)
Neu-Bubenberg Castle is a medieval castle ruin from the 13th century and is located in the Swiss municipality of Köniz in the canton of Bern.
The castle ruin was built on a hill west of Bern. The almost two-meter-thick remains of the walls are clearly visible.
Neu-Bubenberg Castle was built in the 13th century. After Alt-Bubenberg Castle, it was another ancestral seat of the Bernese patrician family von Bubenberg. In 1338, the castle was abandoned and fell into disrepair over the centuries. In 1938, an unsuccessful restoration took place.
