The ruin of Oberes Baliken, also known as Blattenbach, is a former castle in the Canton of Zurich in Switzerland. It is one of the clearance castles of the region and has the remains of a pentagonal tower.

History+

The exact time of construction of Oberes Baliken Castle cannot be precisely dated due to a lack of written records or clear archaeological finds. It is presumed to have been built around 1200 or slightly earlier. The complex was one of several clearance castles that emerged in the Wald area during the 12th and 13th centuries. By the 15th century at the latest, the castle was abandoned or destroyed.
