Rabenstein Castle (Ruin)
At the end of the Schambach Valley, high above the town of Riedenburg, lies the Rabenstein Ruin, once known as Ritenburg. It serves as a viewpoint today.
History+
The hilltop castle was presumably built at the beginning of the 12th century by the Burgraves of Regensburg. After the year 1400, there are no further mentions of the manor. In the 16th century, the complex was destroyed and subsequently fell into ruin.

Visitors can explore the Rabenstein Ruin at any time. Of the former castle complex, which consisted of an upper and lower castle, remnants of the residential tower walls and parts of the curtain wall are still preserved today.
