In Bavarian Oberteisendorf, the Raschenberg ruin, a former hilltop castle, is located. Today, only a few traces of the complex are visible.

History+

The construction of the Raschenberg hilltop castle took place in the 12th century by the Counts of Plain. In 1219, the complex passed into the possession of the Bavarian dukes, before falling to the Archdiocese of Salzburg around 1275. Until the 16th century, the castle served as an independent court seat and administrative district. It was abandoned in 1575 under the archiepiscopal administrator David von Nussdorf.
