Stiegelesfels Castle (Ruin)
The castle ruin Stiegelesfels is the ruin of a hilltop castle in a nature reserve 1250 meters southeast of the town church of Fridingen in the district of Tuttlingen in Baden-Württemberg.
The hilltop castle, built in the first half of the 12th century, was divided into a lower bailey, which probably served as an outer bailey, and an upper bailey on a narrow ridge of the castle rock.
In the area of the upper bailey, the core area of the complex, there was probably a residential tower-like structure. Today, the former castle complex still shows 7-meter long and 2 to 3-meter high wall remains of the lower bailey with small ashlar masonry. The town of Fridingen is named as the former owner.
