Wildenstein Castle (Ruin)
Wildenstein Castle is the ruin of a hilltop castle above the Eschach valley near the Horgen district of the municipality of Zimmern ob Rottweil in the Rottweil district in Baden-Württemberg.
The hilltop castle, mentioned in 1315, was built in the middle of the 13th century and was a ministerialis castle of the Lords of Lupfen.
The Lords of Falkenstein and the Lords of Kirneck are named as owners of the castle. Around 1564, the castle was destroyed.
Of the former castle complex, remains of the residential tower walls on a footprint of 11.5 by 11.5 meters with a wall thickness of 3.7 meters and the curtain wall are still preserved.
