Near Fridingen an der Donau in Baden-Württemberg is the Ziegelhöhlenburg ruin, a former cave castle. Its remains show a construction method that utilized the natural features of a cave.
The origins of Ziegelhöhlenburg date back to the period between 1100 and 1150, when this cave castle was built. Little is known today about its exact history and inhabitants.
The ruin is situated at an elevation of approximately 741 meters above sea level, near the town of Fridingen an der Donau in the Tuttlingen district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Some wall remnants, which hint at the castle's former structure, have been preserved, along with the eponymous cave that was once integrated into the castle complex.
