Near the town of Ruthin in the Vale of Clwyd, Wales, stands Ruthin Castle. The structure was built in the late 13th century and now operates as a hotel.
History+
Ruthin Castle was constructed in the late 13th century by Dafydd, the brother of Prince Llywelyn II. In 1923, the castle underwent a transformation, becoming Britain's first private hospital dedicated to the examination and treatment of internal diseases. Since the 1960s, the estate has been integrated into a hotel.
