In Esslingen am Neckar, the Salemer Pfleghof is a residence with a history dating back to the 13th century. Once owned by a monastery, it later served as an imperial lodging and now houses a museum.
History+
The first documented mention of the Salemer Pfleghof dates to 1229. The property originally belonged to Salem Monastery, which was located in Southern Baden. Between 1548 and 1552, the Pfleghof served as the residence for Emperor Charles V. From 1977 to 1982, the building underwent renovation, with the St. Paul Minster community carrying out the work with support from the state and city.
