To be privately owned
Blansingen Castle

The Schlössle (also Schlössli) in Blansingen is the farmstead popularly known by that name at Alemannenstraße 16 in the village centre. It originates from a fortified stone house of the 15th/16th century that probably served as a manorial or administrative seat and remained in the possession of the barons of Rotberg until 1708. Margravine Magdalena Wilhelmina of Baden acquired the property and established it in 1708 as a foundation for two poor parish widows; it served this purpose until 1807. The two-storey plastered residential building over a high cellar plinth with a half-hipped roof and a lower side annex (core 16th/17th century, with later blocked loopholes and an originally high entrance reachable only by a wooden bridge) forms a parallel farmstead with a barn. It is privately owned, used as a residential and farm building and is protected as a cultural monument.
