Aham Castle
Aham Castle in Lower Bavaria is a historic edifice that now houses a restaurant.
The first documented mention of Aham Castle dates back to the 12th century, when it was owned by the Lords of Aham. Ownership changed hands; prominent lineages included the Lords of Laiming and the Maxlrain family. In the 16th century and again in 1749, the castle underwent expansion and redesign. From 1833, it was the property of the Counts of Montgelas and remained inaccessible to the public. Following a sale in 2009 and a renovation, the castle reopened as a restaurant on January 1, 2012.
Aham Castle is situated in the municipality of Aham in the Landshut district, in the Lower Bavaria region of Germany. It is located at an elevation of approximately 415 meters above sea level.
Today, Aham Castle serves as a restaurant and is thus accessible to visitors.
