Alberweiler Castle

To be privately owned

Schloss Alberweiler, a structure in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, rises in Alberweiler, now part of the municipality of Schemmerhofen. It is characterized by its stone lower floors and timber-framed upper levels.

History+

The origins of the estate date back to the 11th century, when a castle, belonging to the Counts of Berg-Wartstein, was first mentioned. In 1487, this complex was destroyed. Towards the end of the 15th century, Bartholomäus von Warthausen had a new castle built, of which remnants of the circular rampart are still visible today.
