Albrechtsberg Palace, also known as Albrechtsschloss, is a building on the right bank of the Elbe River in Dresden. It is one of the three Elbe Palaces and was built in the mid-19th century for a Prussian prince who had to leave the Prussian court due to an unsuitable marriage.

History+

The construction of Albrechtsberg Palace took place between 1850 and 1854 under the direction of architect Adolf Lohse. The patron was Prince Albrecht of Prussia, the youngest brother of the Prussian kings Frederick William IV and William I. The prince had the palace built after leaving the Prussian court, as his second marriage to the Countess of Hohenau was considered morganatic. The accompanying park was designed by Eduard Neide and laid out under the supervision of court gardener Hermann Sigismund Neumann.
