Almnäs Castle
Almnäs Castle, a historic estate in Sweden, stands on the western shore of Lake Vättern. The three-story main building with its four wings is surrounded by an English park.
History+
The origins of the Almnäs estate can be traced back to the Middle Ages. The current main building of the castle was constructed in the 1750s. The architect of this structure remains unknown to this day. In the 19th century, the estate was expanded with numerous outbuildings, including a saltpeter magazine, another magazine with a columned portico, a distillery, an office building, a brewhouse, a dairy, and stables. The estate complex also included a blast furnace, a mill, a sawmill, and a brick kiln.
