Altenberg Castle

Altenberg Castle is first mentioned in 1374 as being owned by Heinz von Westerstetten ("residing in Altenberg"). In 1449, the castle was destroyed by citizens of Giengen and subsequently rebuilt. In July 1637, the castle burned down during the Thirty Years' War and was rebuilt.
