Altenkamp Castle
Gut Altenkamp is a former manor house in Papenburg. The property, which was bought by the city in 1981, includes baroque garden grounds. The building and park were designed by the architect Peter Pictorius the Younger at the beginning of the 18th century and are surrounded by a moat.
The rooms of the former manor house annually host exhibitions on art and cultural-historical themes presented by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. In addition, concerts and public events organized by the Papenburg Cultural Circle take place in the garden grounds.
