Amalienburg Palace, a Rococo palace in Munich, is an example of 18th-century courtly hunting culture. Originally conceived as a hunting lodge, with its architecture and interior, it is a gem within the Bavarian palace landscape.

History+

Amalienburg Palace was built between 1734 and 1739 according to designs by François Cuvilliés d. Ä. Elector Karl Albrecht had the single-story hunting lodge constructed as a gift for his wife Amalie. It primarily served for pheasant hunting. The stucco work and carvings inside were created by Johann Baptist Zimmermann and Joachim Dietrich.
