Geschichte+
Ammelshain is first mentioned in 1552 as a Vorwerk (outlying farm) owned by the Counts of Lindenau. In 1606, it was converted into a knight's estate. In 1723, Count von Lindenau had the castle built on the walls of a previous structure. Ownership changed in 1793 to the von der Becke family and in 1889 to the von Eckhardt family. This family was dispossessed and expelled by the communists in 1945. In 1991, it was privatized and renovated.

Das Schloss
Das Schloss ist ein zweigeschossiger Putzbau mit Mansarddach. Der Mittelrisalit wird durch einen Dreiecksgiebel bekrönt. Im Inneren sind Stuckdecken und Wandmalereien erhalten.
Der Park
Der Park wurde im 18. Jahrhundert im französischen Stil angelegt und im 19. Jahrhundert in einen englischen Landschaftsgarten umgewandelt. Er enthält seltene Bäume und Sträucher sowie einen Teich mit Insel.
Heutige Nutzung+
Das Schloss befindet sich in Privatbesitz und wird für Wohnzwecke genutzt. Teile des Parks sind öffentlich zugänglich.
