In the Ampfurth district of Oschersleben stands Ampfurth Castle, a Renaissance castle. Its history dates back to the 12th century.

History+

The origins of Ampfurth Castle lie in a castle complex first mentioned in the mid-12th century. In 1257, this circular castle came into the possession of the Archbishops of Magdeburg. In the 14th century, the castle was administered by burgmannen. From 1381, the Lords of der Asseburg took over this task, finally acquiring the entire complex in 1483. Between 1608 and 1615, the current Renaissance castle was built in place of the medieval fortress.
