Annabichl Castle, a historic building in the north of Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, is an example of late 16th-century architecture that was later baroque-styled.

History+

The construction of Annabichl Castle took place between 1580 and 1587, commissioned by Georg von Khevenhüller. He had it built for his second wife, Anna. In 1755, the facade underwent a Baroque transformation, giving it its current appearance. After the Khevenhüllers, the castle changed hands multiple times, including Jakob von Aicholt (1690), Ernst Freiherr von Schneeweiß (1748), Count Sobeck-Kornitz (1757), and Johann Gottfried von Heister (1764). Later, it was inhabited by Archduchess Marianne (1774), Paul von Dietrich (1792), Marianne Wawasch and Josef Knauer (1778), Josef Schmaus (1806), and Prince Franz von Rosenberg (1811).
