In Frederiksværk, Denmark, lies Arresødal Castle, an estate on Lake Arresø. Originally built as a residence, it now serves as a private hospital.

The origins of Arresødal Castle date back to 1773, when it was commissioned by Major General Johan Frederik Classen. After Classen's death, the estate passed into the possession of Prince Karl of Hesse-Kassel. In 1804, another change of ownership occurred when Prince Karl sold the castle to Crown Prince Frederik, later King Frederick VI of Denmark. The main building underwent renovations in 1908/1909 and again in 2004, preserving its structure.
