Asch Castle

The origins of the castle date back to the Lords of Asch, who were first documented around the year 1000. In the 12th century, they left their ancestral seat to gain influence at the ducal court in Landshut. In 1541, Wolf von Asch, a princely councilor and master of the hunt, reacquired the property. He had the still-existing, three-story building constructed and surrounded the castle with a moat. In the 17th century, the north and south facades were adorned with curved Renaissance gables, which no longer exist.
