Aschbach Castle

Aschbach Castle is a modest two-wing complex dating back to 1672, built by Hieronymus Christoph von Pölnitz.

The castle served as the feudal seat of the Barons of Pölnitz for centuries. In 1840, it was acquired by the Barons of Bodeck, who initiated extensive renovations and additions. These included the construction of a chapel, a library wing, and the redesign of the castle park.

Architectural Features

The castle is characterized by its Baroque architecture, with a clear, symmetrical facade and a prominent main portal. The interior boasts richly decorated stucco ceilings, historical wall paintings, and valuable furnishings from various eras.

Today, Aschbach Castle is privately owned and is regularly used for cultural events, concerts, and exhibitions. Parts of the castle are also available for rent for private celebrations and conferences. The castle park, with its ancient trees and picturesque ponds, is open to the public and invites visitors for leisurely strolls.
