Aspang Castle

The castle was probably built in the third quarter of the 12th century and was princely from the beginning. Already in the 13th century, it became the seat of a regional court.

Shortly after 1300, a "hous ze Aspangen" is mentioned for the first time in a document. It was then pledged by Duke Frederick the Fair to Niclas von Thernberg.
