Assumstadt Castle, a Baroque castle, is located in Möckmühl-Züttlingen-Assumstadt in the Heilbronn district. It was built on the site of an older predecessor and is surrounded by a park.

History+

The origins of the current castle date back to 1769, when construction began under the direction of the Prague architect Paul Wiedhopf. It is believed that the designs may have come from his compatriot Johann Joseph Wirch. This building was a gift from the Austrian Empress Maria Theresia to her former Field Marshal Karl Reinhard von Ellrichshausen, whose family had held dominion over Assumstadt since 1667.
