Attalens Castle

Schloss Attalens+
Historical Overview+
Attalens Castle, in the Vevey district, no longer possesses its original form, as it was demolished during the Burgundian Wars. At the beginning of the Fribourg period, it was rebuilt, and despite everything, even after the renovations that took place in the 19th century, it regained the impressive character of its predecessor. From 1618 to 1798, it served as the seat of a small Fribourg bailiwick. After the revolution, the castle passed to the municipality, which had it redesigned before housing an orphanage there and, in 1969, a retirement home.
Now, only private apartments are located here.
