In the former manor of Auerstedt there is a Kemenate (stone house with fireplace), which has the character of a private fortification and indicates a very early use. It was the seat of the respective noble family in possession. The new building at the end of the 17th century burned down in 1840. In the same year, the current building was erected.

Auerstedt Castle, which served as the royal Prussian headquarters during the Battle of Auerstedt, has been preserved and is used, among other things, as a museum. The Förderverein Auerstedt e.V., founded in 1994, is dedicated to regional development through international cultural activities in and around Auerstedt. The motto of the association is Auerworld is Auerstedt.

Auerstedt Castle houses the Carriage Museum of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar. Among other things, the state coach, the running wheel of Baden's Drais, and the wedding carriage of Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna are exhibited there.
