On the eastern edge of Autenried, a district of Ichenhausen, stands Autenried Castle, a structure from the early 18th century. It is divided into an Upper Castle, a Lower Castle, and its own castle church.

History+

The current castle is the third manorial seat on this site, after the previous castle was completely demolished. In 1708/11, Baron von der Halden, who had acquired the lordship through marriage, had the old manorial seat torn down and the current castle built. The construction costs amounted to 4508 guilders, and Johann Georg Reiner from Ichenhausen served as the master builder.
