In Bahrendorf, a district of Sülzetal, stands Bahrendorf Castle. The structure, an example of Neo-Baroque architecture with classicist accents, was built at the beginning of the 20th century and is surrounded by a park with two lakes.

History+

The foundation stone for Bahrendorf Castle was laid in 1908. The client was the estate owner Hans A. Schaeper, who commissioned the architect Paul Schultze-Naumburg with its design. The three-winged building presented itself in the Neo-Baroque style, complemented by classicist decorations. After the end of World War II in 1945, the castle's owners were dispossessed.
