In Bartenstein, a district of Schrozberg in Baden-Württemberg, Bartenstein Castle is located, a three-winged complex on a mountain spur above the Ette. The structure is now considered an example of Hohenlohe Baroque residences, combining historical elements with Baroque splendor.

History+

In the 13th century, a castle at this location served as the center of power for the Lords of Bartenstein. After various changes of ownership, the complex became the seat of a Hohenlohe bailiff in the mid-15th century. The castle suffered destruction during the Peasants' War and the Thirty Years' War.
