Bassenhein Castle

Bassenheim Castle was first mentioned in 1317 and was owned by the Archbishops of Trier since the 13th century, later becoming the ancestral seat of the ministerial family of Bassenheim. The castle was rebuilt between 1614 and 1616. Today it is owned by the noble family Von der Osten and is not accessible to the public.
