In Klipphausen-Batzdorf, between Meißen and Dresden in the Free State of Saxony, lies Batzdorf Castle, a complex with Romanesque origins, which today presents itself in the style of the 16th and 17th centuries.

History+

The first documented mention of the locality of Batzdorf dates back to 1272, when a “Heinricus de Batensdorph” was named. The manorial rights over the village and the developing manor were exercised by the noble family of Miltitz. After the end of World War II in 1945, the then owners were dispossessed and expelled.
