Beauvoorde Castle

Beauvooorde castle was first mentioned in 1408 in the possession of Jan de Valuwe. 1584 the castle was set on fire and in 1617 rebuilt in the Renaissance style. To 1828 the property remained in the hands of Jacob de Bryarde and his family. 1875 transferred the ownership of Arthur Merghelynck, which restored the castle. Merghelynck 1905 donated the property to the Belgian State.
