Bergsteig Castle (St. Margrethen)

The castle was first mentioned in 1482 as the property of Eberli Grüninger. In 1502, ownership transferred to E. Nägeli von Lindau. After this, ownership changed hands frequently. From 1778-1834, it was owned by the Schaffneramt (steward's office) of the city of St. Gallen. Today, it is privately owned.
